About Rick Moreno

Rick Moreno is the Principal and sole proprietor of Sea Grove Capital.  He brings over ten years of experience in the private investment and management consultant industry to deliver exceptional service to his clients and returns to his investors.  His multi-disciplinary experience, extensive formal and technical training, and interpersonal capabilities are at the heart of the company’s core values.

For a decade, Rick has provided independent consulting services to businesses, investors and family offices operating in a variety of industries including retail automotive, food & beverage, niche manufacturing, distribution and commercial real estate.  He has quarterbacked the logistics surrounding over a dozen unique transactions involving nearly 30 businesses and over $400 million in total non-inventory assets.    His efforts on these fronts include valuation and upfront analysis to determine acquisition viability, coordination of due diligence efforts, arrangement and negotiation of financing terms, completion of regulatory and licensing items, oversight and coordination of efforts of legal counsel, negotiation of leases, and transaction execution.

Following to these acquisitions, Rick has served as an ongoing consultant to many of these businesses providing services revolving around finance, personnel management, marketing, operations, facility construction, and other relevant matters.   He has also been involved in the establishment of new businesses and the required work involved to that end.   He has consulted in such efforts as: the awarding of franchise/development rights, the procurement and acquisition of owner-user real estate acquisition, construction management, staffing of personnel, arrangement of financing, etc.

Rick has also facilitated over $280 million in real estate transactions in the multi-family, retail, office and residential segments representing buyers and sellers throughout the state of Florida.  He has also been involved in the management, development and refinancing of owner-user and investment real estate.

Prior to founding Sea Grove Capital, Rick worked in multiple capacities in the business environment.   As a member of the global accounting firm Deloitte, Rick served as a public accountant in a variety of functions.  An integral member of the client service team, Rick operated in several industries including: consumer packaged goods, food, manufacturing, financial services, healthcare and real estate and worked on several engagements.  As a young associate Rick was exposed to multinational transactions at the highest level including the acquisition of Equity Office Properties by Blackstone LP, CME Group’s acquisition of the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) and Siemens’ acquisition of Dade Behring.  Although his passion resides in smaller businesses, this experience has given Rick valuable insight on highly sophisticated transactions.  Rick also gained experience in sales and marketing as part of the Pernod Ricard USA’s marketing division.  His quantitative background allowed Rick to apply statistical and data-driven analysis to marketing decisions that helped the company’s brand expansion in the United States’ multicultural markets.  Many of Rick’s professional endeavors have taken him to cities across the United States including Dallas, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Alabama, West Virginia and others.  As a result, he has a broad understanding of the various business cultures throughout the United States and is able to effectively navigate them while maintaining his unique Miami roots.  This is critical to Sea Grove Capital’s ability to provide the local expertise clients demand with an understanding of today’s global capital markets.
